Denis is a Windsor born professional cartoonist |
Denis is a Windsor born cartoonist, now living in Bracknell. He spent 20 years as a professional cartoonist working for a major international training company (ICL).
He adapts his style to suit the medium in which his cartoons will be used. These many adaptations have seen his cartoons appear in publications as single cartoons or cartoon strips, as ‘Vector’ graphics for personalised P/Point clip-art libraries, Greeting cards, Merchandise, Multimedia programmes, Flash animations and web applications. His style is colourful, cheerful and introduces elements of humour that do not offend. Just right for business use! An international Tablet Production Factory needed a way to encourage staff to participate in Quality Control measures. I had meetings with many admin and factory floor workers to discuss the effective use of cartoons, as a way of helping people engage in maintaining quality measurements required. They agreed that humorous and colourful cartoons would be more inviting to the workforce. more In order to reduce levels of paperwork, Scottish Prison Service made innovative use of computer-based training, but needed to make it easy and acceptable for their employees, who were not accustomed to using computers. more Reading Borough Council requested a cartoon character for their Christmas Promotions that could convey many themes and attract shoppers for an enjoyable and relaxed experience. It had to appeal to adults as well as children. more A major company, needed to raise awareness of incident reporting, across several UK sites for their Health & Safety campaigns, but the subject lacked visual interest. As their processes were primarily ‘written’ documents, I recommended using humour and colour cartoons to balance the necessary guidelines and give it impact. This would also bring the audience into the display and allow them to comfortably read the guidelines. The characters were cheerfully drawn to help staff relate to each other. more |
