How to Become a Professional Wonder Woman and Keep Your Sanity – by Lynda Cant I started my own business in 2004 and I have been working in Europe and China, helping organisations with Leadership Development, which includes Workshops, Mentoring Programmes and 1 to 1 executive coaching. Prior to this I worked as a Board Director for a manufacturing and merchanting company which was part of a FTSE 100 company with annual revenues of over £1.5 bn. I have recently launched a programme, specifically for women – leadatwork.com which is for women who want to • Do work they love; • Be confident, personally fulfilled and feel good about themselves and • Be the leader of their life We offer, mentoring programmes, leadership workshops and executive coaching. Although in most large corporations, it is recognised that developing their people is a key requirement, there are a lot of people who do not get this opportunity. I therefore wanted to write a flexible, self development guide that would be practical and full of true stories, straightforward talking and tried and tested models by women who are leading the lives they choose. Sounds too good to be true? Well many women are doing it right now. You just need the formula. I have therefore written a home study programme which women can use and integrate in their busy, every day lives. I wanted to enhance the text by adding illustrations. I was recommended to Denis Blandford who is an amazingly patient and helpful person as well as being a highly talented artist. On meeting Denis for the first time, I had no idea what I really wanted. All I knew was that I wanted illustrations to show the steps in a visual way in order to give readers a way of easily remembering the learnings. He made suggestions and produced lots of cartoons so that I could choose the ones that fitted the text.
